We were diving in South Lombok about two years ago when I was shocked by a loud explosion (yes, you can hear it underwater). Turned out that the fishermen were bombing the reef so they can easily pick up the dead fishes on the surface – with this process they destroyed a large amount of coral reefs on which the marine life feeds. It just broke my heart – I’m the underwater version of Obelix’ dog who cries every time a tree is cut down. And to think it happened at such close proximity to people scuba diving just 20 meter below!

We gotta stop damaging Mother Earth!

Mia, that is so sad to hear. Maybe those fishermen did it because they were running out of solutions, or because they were in desperate need for easy money, as it is getting more difficult to earn money, so we can’t really blame them completely. I feel that it is the government that are to blame for the condition and the solutions that some people are willing to take to survive, and the victim, that is the nature, that has become the sacrifice for human beings to get what they need.

Nice clip and good thoughts. Nonetheless I believe we won't lack of nourishment, not until the sun refuses to shine, tee-hee. Let's hope you're right, Devi. By the rate we're going, we're lucky if we can still enjoy the rain, or the sun, without knowing that other parts of the world are flooded, or living out of one bucket of water a day, and there are people who are dying out of natural disasters, simply because human are to greedy that they think they don't owe the world anything, they just keep on destroying and taking more than they should, and by the time they realise what they've done, it will all be too late.

That is so true and resonates deeply with what I have in mind.

People do tend to forget everything, the beauty of things, for money.
The clip is so beautiful.
