6 Dec 2008While browsing Hongkiat.com, I found an interesting post entry that showcased 50 of the greatest computer workstations they’d found on the net. Most are Mac computers, and while I’m still dreaming of owning a 20-inch iMac, these guys have gone out of their ways to own at least three computers- if not more – in their personal workstations.
It baffles me why a person must use so many monitors at the same time, but maybe an expert programmer like Eru or an experienced 3D animator like Woelank could explain.
Anyways, here are the selected photos of my favorite workstations;
Check out the amount of monitors on this one! This guy must be minting it.
I love how almost everything is white and decorated with random pictures and tiny knick-knacks here and there. This is a very girly computer setup though.
This one has Intuos, so it’s gotta be a favorite, although to be honest I’m much more worried about one of the laptops being knocked over since the workstation is so close to the kitchen!
Glass table, monitor attached on the wall – very neat, with just enough amount of colors shining out.
Himself obviously loves this one just because it has a Korg MIDI controller which is the same type as his.
I bet by now you’re drooling – can’t really blame you, I was too. But we must, after all, go back to reality and realise that our own workstation only looks like this..
Therrysays.com is a personal blog where I share my thoughts, opinions and rants about life in Indonesia and beyond. If this all sounds good to you, enjoy your stay, but if it isn't your cuppa tea, then kindly leave and let me be! Cheers.

Having built so many workstations in so many offices I must say I was really impressed with the workstations at one of the oil companies. Some department got two or three big monitors (hence required bigger space), their walls were magnetic walls so you could stick anything anywhere, and all furniture were glass and white.
But I myself don’t need a workstation – I am happy with my pink lap tray that says “Does my bum look big on this?” underneath my macbook
Check Vitra if you’re thinking about modern furniture!

I’m all for No.2! It IS very girly, but it’s tidy with a lot of natural light. I don’t need many screens anyway, would get headaches in maybe under an hour!
